Birm – for Iron Removal

Description

Birm is a filtration media used to remove dissolved iron and manganese from raw water supplies. It may be used in gravity fed or pressurized water treatment systems and acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and iron compounds so precipitated material can be filtered. Birm does not require chemical regeneration and is maintained with periodic backwashing.
