About This Product
The Safgard Heavy Duty Boiler Low Water Cut-Off is designed to serve as the primary low-water safety control on residential and commercial water boilers. It uses a durable electronic probe with no moving parts to sense liquid level for dependable operation. The probe may be installed in an equalizing line or directly into a boiler or water tank, following manufacturer instructions and applicable local and state codes.
When water contacts the probe, it completes an electrical circuit between the stainless steel probe tip and the boiler or tank surface. If the water level drops below the probe, the circuit opens. In hydronic heating systems, this signal allows the burner to run when water is at a safe level; if the level falls below the probe, the cut-off shuts the burner down and automatically restarts it once normal water level is restored.
